When Randy and Bryn individually went to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon decades ago, they had the same thought - I have to get to the North Rim someday. Today was the day! We spent the day traveling to all of the overlooks and getting out a little on the trails. Spectacular weather, and something else that seemed very odd - no children! Not only "not our kids," but we saw about 2 toddlers and one child around 10 years old. That's it. So if you want to travel without kids, autumn is the time to do it.

We were saved from the hot Arizona sun by our hats, but the windy nearly took them a couple of times.
Amazing, awesome, there really are no better words to describe the Grand Canyon. If you have never been there, make it a goal to get there.
We saw a couple of Kaibab squirrels, five flocks of turkeys, maybe falcons (definitely not hawks nor eagles), maybe condors but they could have just as easily been turkey vultures (really big birds but too hard to dis - really big birds but too hard to see.
