Across Southern Colorado

This was another big driving day, west along Hwy 160. We passed Mesa Verde National Park. We passed Chimney Rock National Monument (and could see the rock as we drove by). We passed Great Sand Dunes National Monument. But unfortunately, there wasn't time to see any of them.  What did we see? Stunning views and green pines in the Rocky Mountains, farmlands in the San Luis Valley, clouds, wildflowers, a mom-and-pop lunch stop in Del Norte, a yummy fudge shop in Blanca, and then into Colorado Springs.  We met Bryn's cousins Pat and Nikki for dinner at the lovely and stately Patty Jewett Golf Course Grill. We talked until it was dark and time to head for the hotel.

Lovely restaurant decor; food was good!

Fudge worth stopping for; also had a taste of honey ice cream.
