Airplanes in Dayton, Ohio - July 6

Bryn: An early good-bye to our Indiana friends, then drove to Dayton Ohio and the U.S. Air Force Museum. We were there all afternoon but only saw about half of it! Very impressive. When it closed, we headed next door to the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park and saw the memorial to Orville and Wilbur Wright. It was built on an Indian mound site. Bret picked up the Junior Ranger booklet and worked on it this evening.

Photos: diorama representing the occupation of Kiska and Attu Islands in 1942; Reed in the cockpit of an F-16; Bret piloting an F-40 Phantom II; the boys with a P-38 Lightning. Cathy's house with their native plant garden - bright purple coneflowers; the dogbane is spreading like crazy; the deer like to eat the milkweed.
